FAQ

1- Can I delete Testimonials about me on my Page that I don’t like?

Yes, you can delete any Testimonial on your Page that you don’t like. Just click the X in the top right-hand corner of the Testimonial and you will be offered the choice to delete it. You can then ask the person to write a different Testimonial about you, if you wish.

2- Can I display my favourite Testimonials at the top of my Page?

Yes, you can Pin your best or your favourite Testimonials at the top of your page. If you don’t pin any of your Testimonials they will just appear in date order, with the most recent ones at the top. But you can Pin a selection of your favourite Testimonials at the top of your page or Unpin them whenever you want.

3- Can I delete a Testimonial that I have written for someone else?

Yes, you can delete any Testimonials that you have written for other people. Simply go to their page and you will see an X in the top right-hand corner of the Testimonial you have written. Click this X and you will be given an option to delete the Testimonial you have written.

4- Can I make a List that includes all of the people whose new Testimonials I want to read?

Yes, if you want to keep up to date with Testimonials received by lots of different people you can simply create a List and add whoever you want to the List. Every time anyone in that List gets a new Testimonial it will appear in your Feed. This saves you having to visit the individual profiles of people you would like to follow. No one else can see who is included in your Lists.

5- What is a Vouch Score and how is it calculated?

A Vouch Score is calculated using a secret algorithm we have developed. It is made up of two components. The first component is the number of Vouches you receive. The more Vouches you receive, the higher your Vouch Score will be. The second component depends on the person who gives you the Vouch. If a person who has a lot of Vouches gives you a Vouch your Vouch Score will increase by more than if you receive a Vouch from someone who has very few Vouches. To get a high Vouch Score you need to get a lot of Vouches, but you also need to get these Vouches from people who have a lot of Vouches. The higher your own Vouch Score is, the more valuable is the Vouch that you give to someone else.

6- Can I give someone a Vouch without writing a Testimonial for them?

Yes. A Vouch is separate to a Testimonial. You can vouch for someone with one click on their profile page. By giving someone a Vouch, it means you are happy to recommend them to other people. You can then write a Testimonial on their profile page also, if you wish. It’s quicker and easier to give a Vouch, but a Testimonial allows you to describe what you think of the other person.

7- Should I give a Vouch to someone I don’t know?

Definitely Not!! Only give Vouches to people you know and are happy to Vouch for. The number of Vouches you have given is displayed on your Profile, so if you give an unrealistically high number of Vouches it will just damage your own credibility. Similarly, only write a Testimonial for someone you know. Someone will notice if you write a fake Testimonial about someone you don’t know and will report it to us.

8- Can members see if I visit their page to read the Testimonials that other members have written about them?

No. You can visit any page you wish on the Vouch platform without anyone knowing what pages you have visited.

9- Can I Report someone for writing a negative Testimonial about me?

Yes. If another member writes a nasty Testimonial about you or is being abusive you can report them to Vouch. Simply click on the 3 dots in the top right-hand corner of a Testimonial and you will see a Report User button.

10- Who can read my Testimonials and whose Testimonials can I read?

Everyone can read everyone else’s Testimonials on Vouch – we are an open and transparent platform. Besides, no-one writes negative Testimonials on Vouch, so why wouldn’t you want everyone else to read your Testimonials?!

11- Who should I give a Vouch to?

Only give Vouches to people you know and would be happy to recommend or ‘Vouch’ for. Everyone can see how many Vouches you have given out to others, so don’t just give Vouches to anyone as it could damage your credibility.

12- What information about myself can I display in my Profile?

Your profile on the left-hand side of your Page allows you to upload content about yourself that will allow others to identity you and which they should find interesting to learn about you.

13- How does Vouch prevent against Fake Profiles and Fake Testimonials?

Fake profiles are not allowed on Vouch and will be removed from the platform. We monitor all Accounts for suspicious behaviour that suggests the user is fake. The first indication that a user is fake is if they have no Testimonials from other users. If no-one is willing to write a Testimonial for a user then there is a high likelihood that it is fake. Similarly, if the user does not write any Testimonials for anyone else or if the Testimonials they write are reported to us as fake then we will remove the user. Real users are encouraged to enter the link from their LinkedIn profile in the Admin area of their account as further evidence of their bona fides.

14- What should I write in a Testimonial?

Think of a Testimonial as a short ‘letter of recommendation’ you would write for someone. What characteristics do they have that you admire? What qualifications do they have, not just academic qualifications, but other things that they are ‘qualified’ to do, that other people should know about? How long have you known them and in what circumstances have you engaged with them previously? But mostly, what are the reasons why you would be happy to vouch for the person? Tell a story if it helps. Make it interesting and make the person want to share it with other people they know. Write it as if the next person hiring them for a job was going to read it.

15- How much does it cost to join Vouch?

Vouch is free to join. At some point in the future, we intend offering a Premium service for a small monthly fee. This Premium service will offer some extra features but free members will have access to all of the standard features of the Vouch platform, such as writing Testimonials and giving Vouches, if they would prefer not to pay anything.
